Literary Theater Dialogue presents “Life is Too Short…” dedicated to the life and legacy of iconic Russian-American writer Sergei Dovlatov. The script is based on literature, music, and documentary images. The program will weave together readings of Dovlatov’s prose, personal recollections from his widow, fellow writers and journalists, jazz music, and visual arts presentation.

Literary Theater Dialogue was founded in 2003. The Theater performs original plays written by its artistic director and playwright Irina Volkovich. All plays are based on the letters, memoirs, literary works, and diaries of legendary writers and cultural figures. The Dialogue troupe has performed in New York City, Tri-State area, and in Europe.
Irina Volkovich – a founder and artistic director of the Literary Theater “Dialogue”. She written the scripts for several literary-musical including, “Candle Burned “, “Dark Avenues”, “Echo of Love,” “I Speak with You from Leningrad “, “Life Is Too Short…,” “In the Mirrors,” “Tell Me That You Love Me”, “Something Sad and Something Funny.”
Inna Yesilevskaya – graduated from the Kazan Theater School (Russia). Since 2004 she is an actress of the Literary Theater Dialogue. She plays the leading role in the productions: “The Candle Burned…”, “Dark Avenues”, “In the Mirrors”, “A life Is Too Short…”,”Echo of Love”, “Something Sad and Something Funny”.
Rustem Galitch – graduated from the Schepkin Higher Theatre School (Moscow). He has directed and starred in the play “The Demon” based on the poem by M. Lermontov. Since 2003, he is an actor of the Literary Theater Dialogue. He plays the leading role in the productions: “Dark Avenues”, “The Candle Burned…”, “I Speak With You From Leningrad…”, “In the Mirrors”, ”A Life is Too Short…”, “Salute, St. Petersburg! 10 years later.”
