The First Russian-American History Month in New York State

For the first time in the three-century old history of Russians in the United States of America, the month of April will be celebrated in New York State as Russian-American History Month. Official recognition of the contributions of Russian Americans to the development of the United States will also serve to strengthen friendly relations between Russia and the US.

The main purpose of “Russian-American History Month” is to draw the attention of American audiences to the history of Russian Americans and the role they have played in the history of the US. Thus, at this point in the academic year, we can bring the focus of attention to students and the general public to help them acquire better understanding.

As part of the first RA History Month, in April 2012, there will be many events at venues around New York City and State.
