KOLYA HAS BEEN SENT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL WITH COMPLETE REMISSION!

Kolya Kharitonov needed expensive treatment for a rare form of cancer at St. Petersburg Hospital, Russia. His therapy was partly paid by funds raised at the RACH-C Gala International Children’s Day Celebration which we co-hosted with Ambassador Vitaly Ivanovitch Churkin at the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations May 24, 2007.

COLLECTION STARTS FOR SILENT AUCTION

At the first Children’s Festival, RACH-C raised $5 thousand for a young boy suffering from cancer in St. Petersburg, through the use of an exciting “Silent Auction". Donations of auction items are being sought for this years Children’s Festival closing event; the celebration of International Children’s Day at the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations at which the Silent Auction will be held.

AMERICAN DAUGHTER OF VLADIMIR MAYAKOVSKY TO SPEAK AT MGU

Professor Patricia Thompson (aka Elena Vladimirovna Mayakovskaya) the only daughter of the internationally acclaimed poet, has been invited to speak at Moscow State University in April 2008. Dr. Thompson is a member of the Advisory Board of RACH-C and a CUNY Professor at Lehman College.

JULY 8, 2008 MOSCOW: RACH-C ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER HONORED AT MEETING OF “DESCENDENTS OF DISTINGUISHED COMPATRIOTS ABROAD”, “PRESIDENT HOTEL”, MOSCOW.

A conference of families of distinguished Russian compatriots abroad was convened by the Russian Government, to recognize and underline the continuing cultural and emotional ties of Russians living abroad with their “Heritage Country,” Russia. The meeting was attended by families from 30 different countries as well as high ranking members of the government and academic community of the Russian Federation. Among the Russian dignitaries who voiced high esteem for the honored guests were, the minister of foreign affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, the head of the Department on Russian Compatriots abroad, Alexander Chepurin, and the Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma, Konstantin Kosachev.

Russian American Cultural Heritage Center (RACH-C) presented a wide ranging Forum on the topic of “Saving Russian Heritage for Adopted Russian Children in the US” held at Columbia University, with the Harriman Institute co-hosting on October 29, 2009.
