 Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005  Vocal and instrumental community concert on behalf of Community Board 12 Manhattan at Our Savior's Atonement Lutheran Church, featuring classical vocal and instrumental musical selections by Russian performers and/or composers consistent with the RACH-C’s concept of inclusiveness and performed by a diverse group of artists. (See Below)

Friday, December 2, 2005, Russian Salon at Barnard College with the theme of "Exploring Identity" featured poetry by a number of noted poets: Irina Aks, Inna Bogachinskaya, Vasily Kolchenko, Mikhail Brif, Olga Zbarskaya, Andrey Karepov, Mikhail Rabinovich, Mikhail Shklyar, and students of Barnard College. The theme of MUSIC & IDENTITY was cleverly explored by Dr. Gennady Kupisok, with Soprano Saxophone, Clarinet, and Joleika.

Salon participants join poets Inna Bogachinskaya and Olga Zbarskaya as they accompany Joleika music of Gennady Kupisok. Poet Vasily Kolchenko puts his words to music.

 

 

 

Saturday September 24, 2005  Fall Picnic of "Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption" (ФРУА.) This yearly event at at Kingsland Point Park on the Hudson River, Sleepy Hollow (Tarrytown), NY, brings together adoptive families of Russian children.

Friday Aug. 5,  2005  Gala Vocal Music Concert - Featuring works of Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Verdi and others. Music Director: Inna Leytush. This performance of ten classical singers was an enormous hit. It was held at Advent Lutheran Church, 2504 Broadway @93rd St., New York, NY.  
July 30, 2005  Trazarte, an organization of local Dominican Artists, meets to share art & culture. Following a most successful art exhibition at the United Palace Annex Gallery, at which Russian Artists Olga Torrey and Svetlana Mittleman joined fellow artists from the Dominican community (Jorge Pena, Pedro Montero, Jesus Betances, Ezequiel Jimenez, and Luis Morillo) they all attend an evening of poetry, song and shop talk along with other members of RACH-C at the Clark Conference Center of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

July 8, 2005  An Afternoon of Songs and Arias about Love, Featuring Justin Farrel Marsh, Tenor accompanied by Inna Leytush on piano. CAMI Hall, 165 West 57th St., New York, NY,

June 11 - 19, 2005   Arts Stroll of Washington Heights - Inwood, organized by Community Board 12 and other community activists in Manhattan. This was the third festival. Participants were treated to exhibits by local artists in 55 venues from 157th Street to 220th Street along the Broadway corridor. Many Russian artists displayed their works and a variety of events including music and awards was provided for residents and outside visitors. May 29, 2005  Recital - Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and others at Estonia House. This exciting musical program was provided by Vasile Cheptaenaru -Tenor; Elga Johannes- Soprano; with Musical Director Inna Leytush at the piano.

April 22, 2005  Russian Salon at Barnard College: This evening was devoted to THE ART & MYSTERY OF LOVE. Participants discussed cross cultural perspectives on love and their expression through the arts. The voice of soprano Eleanora Smirnova accompanied by Sergey Kalyuzhniy on guitar provided love songs in Russian. The actor and performer Rustem Galitch interpreted Russian love poetry as did a number of guests.  Attendance was by invitation only.

April 3, 2005     Focus Group in Medical Translations: RACH-C prepared and conducted a focus group with Russian speaking participants to help a company, Transcendent  International LL. C, acquire insight into issues related to medical services to Russian speakers receiving services in the health services system of New York.   
March 11 - 13, 2005    Individual Exhibition of Mixed Media Art by Svetlana Mittleman at the Music Festival Russian Celebration of Our Savior's Atonement Lutheran Church.

  

February 18, 2005  Russian Salon at Barnard College: This evening was devoted to Vladimir Mayakovsky. Our honored guest, his American daughter (his only child.) Patricia Thompson, A.K.A,  Elena Vladimirovna, PhD, Professor of Education at CUNY, Lehman College, and graduate of Barnard College. Dr. Thompson spoke about her family and memories of her father. We heard poetry of Mayakovsky by students and professional actors and music by G. Sviridov written to the words of Mayakovsky. (Attendance at Salons is by invitation only.)

January 30, 2005  Classical Concert  at Estonian Educational Society, 243 East 34th St. at 2nd Ave., NYC,  3:00pm, featuring: Thomas Wolf, tenor, Gennady Kupisok, clarinet, Daniel Hane, bassoon, Inna Leytush, piano. The music of Schubert, Winterreise, and Glinka.
